An instrument-by-instrument resource pack for ukulele, bass, keys and guitar. Takes teachers and students step-by-step through activities and playalong videos that build formative instrumental and ensemble skills. Originally designed for younger children, but used successfully from Year 2 upwards.

Just Play

Musical Futures’ first-access programme for teachers and students. Builds holistic musical skills and an understanding of playing as a whole-class band, with a suite of resources supporting teachers — including non-specialist primary teachers — to deliver practical music making.

Beats

This model includes ‘MF Styles’ (exploring particular musical genres and styles in more detail), ‘Groove Your Classroom’ (drum kit rhythms delivered across common classroom percussion instruments) and ‘Chair Drumming’ (a scaffolded series of classroom rhythm resources that replaces a drum kit with a chair!) — plus more.

Play Now

A stepping stone from Just Play to informal learning — after experiencing this approach, students are better able to replicate it with a song of their own choice and go ‘In at the Deep End’ with support along the way.

Video resources available for a huge range of songs, designed to help get students playing together as a class band on ukulele, guitar, bass, keys and vocals.

Recreate

Learn electronic music production ‘the way electronic musicians learn’. Applies informal learning principles using recreate videos and a scaffolded aural approach to making songs with hardware/software — GarageBand, Soundtrap, BandLab, Chrome Music Lab and Roland AIRA Compact hardware all included.

Songwriting

Helping students develop critical approaches to songwriting across three key modules: Steps to Songwriting, Express Yourself Hip-Hop Songwriting, and AI-powered Songwriting Coaches and skill development tools.
